Mykola Kmit, Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Lviv, Ukraine:
“Will Ukrainian economy be competitive in the global post-recession economic arena? This largely depends on empowering the regional economies of Ukraine – through their diverse and yet unrealized potential. At the regional and local level in Ukraine, now there is lack of comprehension of the foundations of competitiveness, lack of systemic approach to strategic investment promotion and continuous business climate improvement. Our Forum is the platform to discuss most pressing challenges and prospects for the Ukrainian regions that must revamp and strengthen themselves to become driver for the breakthrough of the national economy”.

Courtney Fingar, Editor, fDi Magazine/ Financial Times:
"FDI has long been a crucial component of economic development, but in the face of a global economic downturn and mass job losses, its importance as an employment generator and growth engine has only grown. The financial crisis and subsequent reduction in liquidity has caused FDI levels to decline at a time when they are needed most - making it essential that governments take a proactive approach to securing investments and examine their FDI competitiveness through forums such as this one."

Among the invited guests there are representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, Ministry of Regional Development and Construction of Ukraine, Regional State Administrations and City Councils, City Mayors; representatives of established international organizations such as World Economic Forum, International Finance Corporation, EBRD, European Investment Bank, USAID, UNDP; leading local and foreign Regional Development Agencies, Investment Promotion Agencies and National Competitiveness Councils, such as Czechinvest, Scottish Enterprise, InvestinRivne; well-known international and Ukrainian companies such as Microsoft, Erste Bank, Galnaftogas and others.
