WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Broad Street Capital Group, (www.broadstreetcap.com), an international private merchant bank founded in 1996 in New York, New York, has been approved for membership in the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC).  The announcement was made today by the USUBC executive committee on behalf of the over 100 companies and organizations who are members of USUBC. 

The Broad Street Capital Group's staff is comprised of talented multilingual professionals who have substantial experience in trade finance & export management, strategic business development, and international project finance in eleven countries. 

FINANCING, ADVISORY & STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
The Broad Street Capital Group (The Firm) has successfully completed numerous financing, advisory and strategic business development projects involving the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), United Nations, and several multinational corporations including Motorola and Qwest Communications.   To attain its mandated goals, The Firm uses proprietary funds, as well as structured financing from ECAs, IFIs and commercial equity and debt sources with whom it maintains close relations.

Current mandates range from exclusive advisory mandate from UkrKosmos for $150 million US originated financing of a Ukrainian Satellite; $250 million power plant rehabilitation financing for SE Yuzhmash (a project for USTDA) provided substantial portion of feasibility development funding); to financing and export management of a turnkey wind tower production facility; and US  made geo seismic equipment. 

In the spirit of famed merchant bankers of the last several centuries, The Firm, along with its affiliates, takes principal positions and assists several US companies in the medical and environmentally friendly industries to establish strategic market presence in Ukraine and set up successful distribution there.  The Firm counts among its clients leading Ukrainian State and private companies and banks, as well a number of small and medium US enterprises.

LARGE NUMBER OF INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS
Over the last several years The Firm’s Merchant Banking and Advisory Group has been involved in a number of large international projects including a $107.5 million financing of a US/Ukrainian Sea Launch joint venture in Ukraine, $150 million financing of an Ukrainian/Brazilian joint venture at Alcantara, a project for the Ukrainian Presidential Administration, financing a $54 million multi-regional TETRA wireless communications system in Russia for which OPIC and USTDA committed a portion of the funding.

The firm also was involved in developing large scale manufacturing facilities in Estonia, managing a national MIS system for issuance of all state documents in Moldova, and consulting for the UN on commercialization of Science and Technology in Belarus. 

To leverage its capabilities, the Firm maintains several strategic relationships with US and Ukrainian reputable specialist firms in the fields of power engineering, renewable energy project development and finance and turnkey manufacturing solutions providers.

MANAGING DIRECTOR ALEXANDER GORDIN
The Firm's Managing Director, Alexander M.
