The President of Ukraine has signed the draft law to reform the judicial system in Ukraine

On July 13, 2016 the President of Ukraine signed a new law designed to reform the Judicial System and modify the status of judges*. Previously, on June 24, 2016 the President also signed a law amending the Constitution of Ukraine**.
The new law and amendments to the Constitution introduce fundamental changes to the structure of the court system.

The new Law will come into effect on the day following the date of its publication, but not before the constitutional amendments become effective (within 3 months after publication).
