Avellum Partners’ Associate Mykyta Nota Became Member of Public Council of Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine

On 24 February2015, the constituent assembly of the Public Council of the AntimonopolyCommittee of Ukraine (“Public Council”) took place. As a result newmembers of the Public Council were elected for the two years’ term.
Mykyta Nota,Associate of the Competition Practice at Avellum Partners, became a member ofthe newly elected Public Council, which consists of 52 representatives ofvarious NGOs.
The PublicCouncil is a permanent collegial advisory body of the Antimonopoly Committee ofUkraine (“Committee”), which was created to induce effective cooperation of the Committee with thepublic in the process of development and implementation of state policy in thearea of protection of competition and to ensure public control over theCommittee’s activities.
Mykyta Notacommented upon his election: “In view of the major role of transparentcompetition for business growth and investment in Ukraine, the Public Councilis one of the effective tools to build cooperation among state authorities, thepublic and business, in order to develop and protect competitive environment inUkraine. As a member of the Public Council of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine,being a representative of both a public institution and business, I will focuson the development and improvement of competition law in Ukraine, as well asensuring fair competition rules for business operating in the country.”
