CRDF Global joins UNESCO, American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), American Chemical Society (ACS) and others in sponsoring the Malta V Conference: "Science Diplomacy in the Middle East - A Bridge to Peace", which took place Dec. 4-9, 2011 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. This conference brought together Nobel laureates and other eminent scientists with scientists from the Middle East and neighboring countries. Malta Conferences, which are held every two years, are organized by the Malta Conferences Foundation and are designed to promote a culture of peace through cooperation in science. The Malta V Conference focused, in particular, on energy, nanotechnologies and materials science, medical chemistry and natural products, green chemistry, education and the environment. CRDF Global's Cindi Warren Mentz, director, External Relations, Middle East/North Africa, and Khaled Touqan, director of CRDF Global’s Jordan office, attended.
