Ihor Olekhov elected Co-Chair of the Banking & Financial Services Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce

Kyiv, Ukraine, 3 January 2018 — Ihor Olekhov, Partner of Baker McKenzie’s Kyiv Office, has been elected as the Co-Chair of the Banking & Financial Services Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.

The Committee aims to actively participate in the Ukrainian banking system development and promotion of high quality banking standards and values as well as support and development of initiatives of the Ukrainian government and local banking association towards establishment of local banking environment harmonized with the best international banking practices.

The Committee is equally actively involved in the development of other financial services markets (insurance, payment services, asset management, fintech and other areas of financial or related services) in Ukraine with the aim to ensure full access of businesses in Ukraine to modern financial instruments and to create new business opportunities for businesses operating in financial services.

Ihor Olekhov commented on his appointment as follows: “It is a great privilege and honor to be able to serve as one of the leaders of the banking & financial services community in Ukraine. Unlike other business associations representing exclusively banking or financial services industries, the membership of the Banking & Financial Services Committee of the Chamber is much broader and includes leading international and local corporates. We would make every effort to greatly contribute to raising awareness and raising the bar for the level of banking and financial services available to businesses focusing on our region”.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine is among the most influential member-funded business associations in Ukraine. The Chamber represents 600+ members — international and Ukrainian companies that contribute to the improvement of the business climate in Ukraine and to the creation of better opportunities for people in Ukraine to realize their potential.
