WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) is the only Catholic university on the territory of the former Soviet Union. It is a private university and although accredited in Ukraine, it does not rely on any funding from the Ukrainian government.

In addition to the programs of the university's Lviv Business School (LvBS), bachelor's and master's degrees are offered in theology, history, and social pedagogy. A School of Journalism is set to open in 2011. Currently more than 1,000 students are enrolled at the UCU, including undergraduates from Canada, Brazil, Russia, Belarus, and Poland.

Certificate programs include philosophy, bioethics, icon-painting, and training to assist individuals with special needs.

The university also offers a semester abroad program in the English language and a summer school for foreigners who want to study the Ukrainian language and culture and an English-language section of its icon-painting summer school.

The university has academic partnerships with numerous educational institutions in Ukraine and throughout the world, including in the US, Canada, Germany, and Italy.

LVIV BUSINESS SCHOOL (LvBS)
The Lviv Business School, established in 2008, integrates management education programs and unique value-based products of business development as part of executive development programs based on specific needs of individuals and the companies they represent.
