20 June 2017 – Dentons has published its first-ever Global Litigation and Dispute Resolution Q&A Guide, which offers the current view on dispute resolution in 27 jurisdictions across the globe.

The guide – although not intended to serve as exhaustive advice on dispute resolution in the jurisdictions covered – provides answers concerning main dispute resolution methods, court litigation, fees and funding, court proceedings, interim remedies, final remedies, evidence, cross-border litigation, and alternative dispute resolution in jurisdictions across Australia, Europe, the Americas and Asia.

"Businesses that find themselves in disputes are facing pressure to decide which avenue is best suited to manage the conflict," said Michael Schafler, co-head of Dentons' Litigation and Dispute Resolution group in Canada.  "Dispute resolution mechanisms vary dramatically not only within one country but also between all jurisdictions.  Therefore, it is important to ensure that the planned actions are appropriate and enforceable in the relevant jurisdictions."

Dentons’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution professionals have experience dealing with all types of disputes, ranging from banking litigation, corporate disputes, judicial reviews, and international arbitration to class actions, white collar crime and internal investigations, infringement of intellectual property, and EU competition and anti-trust law.

The Firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution lawyers draw upon their extensive experience, trusted judgment and insight to develop customized strategies that address their clients’ specific business objectives.  The team employs the most appropriate tools and strategies for each stage of the process and each unique situation, working with clients to assess and manage their risks in relation to the legal costs of the dispute and to minimize the likelihood of future litigation.

The full Global Litigation and Dispute Resolution Q&A Guide can be downloaded here.  Overviews of additional jurisdictions will be published in due course.
