President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with bipartisan delegation of the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress. The American delegation consisted of congressmen Michael McCaul (R-TX), Will Hurd  (R-TX), Martha McSally (R-AZ), Kenny Marchant (R-TX), Clay Higgins (R-LA), Kathleen Rice (D-NY), Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD).

The Head of State thanked for a powerful bipartisan support for Ukraine by the U.S. Congress in countering ongoing Russian aggression, enhancing defense capacity of our country and implementation of necessary internal reforms.

Petro Poroshenko informed the congressmen on the situation in Donbas, ongoing provocations and violation of ceasefire regime by the militants controlled by Russia.

The parties emphasized the necessity of preserving and enhancing the international sanctions against Russia until full implementation of the Minsk agreements and restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including Crimea.

Petro Poroshenko expressed hope that the U.S. Congress would further actively support Ukraine, inter alia, through the adoption of respective laws and resolutions.

The parties also discussed the enhancement of cooperation in the sphere of reinforcement of Ukraine’s defense capacity and ability to counter Russian aggression.
