KYIV, Ukraine....On September 8th it was drizzling in Pushcha Vodytsya (area located just outside of Kyiv) but this did not deter the new students of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy (ULA), www.UAL.org.ua/en, during the opening of the fourth year of the Academy.  The new students enthusiastically took in the ULA Kyiv campus surroundings, met alumni, mentors, and managers, and took their first selfies at the photo zone. Two hundred fifty young people came from all over Ukraine to take an oath and a 10-month journey full of adventures, challenges, and victories, together.

"What the future will look like depends on each of us and, of course, on our actions together. We firmly believe that the Ukrainian Leadership Academy can provide the necessary training of political and public leaders of Ukraine. I call on you to make full use of the opportunities presented to you by the Academy. Start this year by opening yourself up to new ideas and views", said Jaroslawa Johnson, President and CEO of Western NIS Enterprise Fund, the major founding organization and funder of ULA over the past four years.

"The Academy is blessed with children who demand more from life, who think bigger than we ever did. Who doesn’t just want to see the world, but to change it too," Susan Fritz, Ukraine Country Director for the US Agency for International Development (USAID), told the new students.

"From now on, you become part of a single dream. You – are a part of the team. The team of all teams! We, at the Ukrainian Leadership Academy, are not a group of disguised dreamers, we are the power of pure and young dreams, and where there is power, there must be responsible. Which is exactly why we do not plan to stop during the pursuit of our declared goal. We embody this dream, we are the movement”, stated Father Andriy Zelinskyy, Chaplain of the 36th Special Brigade of the Marine Corps of Ukraine, a member of the initiative ULA working group, supervisory board, and teacher at the Ukrainian Leadership Academy.

The 250 new students, immediately after taking the oath, went on a journey to the Ukrainian Carpathian mountains to conquer the two highest peaks of Ukraine – Hoverla, and Petros, where they also, for the first time checked their strength in teamwork.

Похід в Карпати замість шкільної "лінійки" — в Українській академії лідерства почався новий навчальний рік.

В Пущі Водиці 8 вересня моросив легкий дощик, але це не злякало наших абітурієнтів. Вони захоплено роздивлялися осередок, знайомилися з випускниками, менторами та менеджерами і робили перші селфі біля фотозони.

250 молодих хлопців та дівчат з'їхалися зі всієї України щоб разом скласти присягу та вирушити у подорож довжиною у 10 місяців сповнену пригод, викликів та перемог.

капелан 36-ої окремої бригади морської піхоти України, член ініціативної робочої групи, наглядової ради та викладач Української академії лідерства.

Одразу після складення присяги, студенти вирушили у мандрівку осінніми Карпати, щоб підкорити дві найвищі вершини України — Говерлу та Петрос, а також вперше перевірити на міцність свою командність.
