YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND a USUBC members, by invitation only, "ROUNDTABLE" with Pavlo Petrenko, Minister of Justice of Ukraine, and Deputy Minister of Justice Pavlo Moroz in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, 4:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room offices of SigmaBleyzer, 6 Baseyna Street, Mandarin Plaza, 8th Floor, Kyiv, Ukraine (see directions below), followed by a reception.  

USUBC is very fortunate to have this unique opportunity for members to meet with the Minister of Justice and the Deputy Minister of Justice regarding critical reforms, new developments at the State Archive Service, the State Executive Service, the State Registration Service, anti-corruption, legislative and other key issues facing Ukraine.  Minister Petrenko, as you know, has been an outstanding, effective and influential member of the new government of Ukraine since he was appointed in March of 2014.

(1) BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: PAVLO PETRENKO, MINISTER OF JUSTICE OF UKRAINE

Pavlo Petrenko was appointed the Minister of Justice of Ukraine by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on March 3, 2014. Prior to that, he was a member of the Verkhovna Rada [Parliament] of Ukraine with the Batkivshchyna Party where he was the Secretary of the Rada Committee of the Rule of Law and Justice.

Prior to becoming a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in 2012 elections, Mr. Petrenko was a member of the Kyiv Oblast Rada [Council] since 2010. Pavlo Petrenko has extensive experience in practicing law: his career in law started in 2001 and continued in 2006 through 2010 with the break when he worked in key positions in the legal department of the State Savings Bank of Ukraine (Oshchadbank).

Minister Petrenko is a graduate of Chernivtsi National University and the Ukrainian Foreign Trade Academy with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. Mr. Petrenko holds a Masters’ degree in law and Candidate of Jurisprudence scientific degree.

(2) BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: PAVLO MOROZ, DEPUTY MINISTER OF JUSTICE OF UKRAINE

Pavlo Moroz was appointed to the position of the Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine in February 2016. Prior to the Deputy Minister position, Mr. Moroz was the Director of Tax and Law of EY (at the time, Ernst and Young, a USUBC member) for over 10 years and prior to that – Taxes and Law Department Manager at Deloitte and Touche (also a USUBC member).

Since his 1997 graduation from Foreign Relations Institute of Kyiv National Shevchenko University with International Private Law, Mr. Moroz worked for private companies in Ukraine.  Deputy Minister Moroz has been studying at the University of Alabama via correspondence course in order to obtain Master’s degree in Tax Law.
