USUBC hosted a Luncheon Briefing with five members of the Parliament of Ukraine who visited Washington with Open World Leadership Program:

The program included: Sergii Kiral, Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada [Parliament] Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship;  Oleksandr Kodola, Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada [Parliament] Committee on Construction, Urban Development, Housing and Utility Services;  Iryna Suslova, Chair of the Subcommittee on Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination of the Verkhovna Rada [Parliament] Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and International Relations; Nataliia Veselova, Chair of the Verkhovna Rada [Parliament] Subcommittee on State Social Guarantees and Ensuring Sufficient Quality of Life;  Valeriia Zaruzhko, Co-Chair of the Inter-factions Parliamentary Group called “Women, Peace, and Security.”

The meeting took place on Thursday, July 26 in the offices of Baker McKenzie in Washington, D.C.

The Parliament members covered a wide range of issues from business and development to governance, adopting necessary legislation to proceed with the reform package, discussed the process of combating corruption as well as results and progress in this matter.
Presenters also spoke about pension reform, improving the investment climate, key economic indicators and reorganizing the governmental institutions.
