Dmytro Filonenko serves as the Director of Programming & Business Development at the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC). In this capacity, he oversees programming at the USUBC office in Ukraine and provides comprehensive support to the business needs of USUBC members operating in the country, as well as those visiting. Additionally, Dmytro is part of the USUBC Defense Working Group — driving engagement between key U.S. defense companies and their Ukrainian counterparts from both the government and private sectors.
Prior to joining USUBC, Dmytro worked as an analyst with the Crisis Analysis Team at the Ukraine office of Mercy Corps, a U.S.-based global non-governmental organization. His professional background also includes expertise in security studies and strategic analysis, with research focused on EU-NATO cooperation during his academic exchange program in the Research & Policy Analysis Department at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies (GCMC).
Dmytro holds a Master’s degree in Environment and Energy Security in International Relations from the Institute of International Relations at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where he also completed his Bachelor’s degree in Eastern European Studies. He is an alumnus of the Program on Applied Security Studies at GCMC.
Dmytro’s expertise spans the U.S.–Ukraine cross-sector business relations, with a particular focus on security and defense, energy, and agriculture.
