New draft legislation registered in Parliament marks a significant step toward integrating Ukraine’s energy infrastructure framework with the EU’s TEN-E Regulation, aiming to streamline permitting and accelerate priority projects. In its latest legal update, CMS outlines how Draft Law No. 13450 introduces a new category of energy infrastructure projects of public interest, enhanced incentives – including potential EU funding – and a “comprehensive decision” concept to coordinate permitting timelines. The proposed framework is expected to reduce administrative delays, strengthen Ministry of Energy oversight, and create more predictable conditions for investors and developers in strategic energy sectors.
