On 14 April 2014, the Council ofthe European Union adopted a regulation which provides for the temporaryreduction and/or elimination of customs duties in accordance with a scheduleset out in an annex to the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
Reduction/elimination of the customs duties is expected to enter into force on23 April, the day following its scheduled publication in the Official Journalof EU.
The temporary reduction/elimination of the customs duties will last untilUkraine signs Title IV of the Association Agreement (which makes the changespermanent) or up to 1 November 2014 (if it is not signed).
Preferential arrangements will apply to Ukrainian goods, if their originconfirmed according to the rules of origin mentioned in the AssociationAgreement.
