On27 June 2014, Ukraine and the EU signed the economic part of the AssociationAgreement*.
Previously, both parties had already signed the political part, which was followedby a unilateral reduction / cancelation of customs duty rates by the EU.
The Association Agreement will come into force at the beginning of the secondmonth after Ukraine and each of the 28 member countries of the EU ratifies it.
Therefore, if rapid ratification occurs in July, the Association Agreementcould become effective as early as September 2014.
