GE Vernova has launched two major holiday initiatives championing creativity and STEM learning for children worldwide. The company recently set a new Guinness World Records title for organizing the largest online toy drive in 24 hours, donating 23,385 STEM toys, with the GE Vernova Foundation matching all contributions. In partnership with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and Save the Children US, these toys will be distributed globally to support young learners and inspire future innovators.
As part of this Season of Giving, GE Vernova opened Innovators Toy Land, an immersive pop-up experience at Rockefeller Center that transforms scientific concepts into hands-on learning. Visitors can engage with interactive exhibits featuring iconic brands such as Lite-Brite®, Rubik’s Cube®, Snap Circuits®, and Slinky®. The exhibits demonstrate how play fuels creativity, how curiosity drives engineering breakthroughs, and how STEM skills shape tomorrow’s clean-energy workforce.
The initiative was launched on Global Giving Tuesday alongside the global Innovators Toy Drive, aimed at expanding access to STEM-inspired toys that nurture critical thinking and reinforce equitable learning opportunities. Over the next five years, the energy sector will require more than 30 million skilled workers, according to the International Energy Agency – making early exposure to STEM more essential than ever.
Students from several New York City schools, including Ampark Neighborhood Elementary School, The Jermain L. Green STEM Institute of Queens, and Energy Tech High School, participated in special field trips to explore Innovators Toy Land. Their attendance underscores the value of broadening access to STEM learning and the importance of diverse perspectives in driving innovation.
Through these holiday initiatives, GE Vernova continues its long-standing commitment to sparking curiosity in young minds and empowering the next generation of engineers, scientists, and problem-solvers.
