AEROSVIT DELIVERS MEDICAL MASKS, HAND SANITIZER TO UKRAINE

On November 8, AeroSvit Ukrainian Airlines delivered one million medical masks and 12,500 bottles of hand sanitizer to Ukraine from New York after the airline initiated a free cargo transportation program with the Consulate-General of Ukraine in Chicago, with funding from the Ukrainian community in the U.S. The airline's partners at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport contributed to the effort. AeroSvit also addressed the Ukrainian Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation on Nov. 2 with a proposal to transport flu-related relief to Ukraine gratis via its regular flights. PHILANTHROPIST OF THE YEAR CONTEST EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS

Organizers of the Philanthropist of the Year Contest have extended the deadline for nominations to November 15, 2009. The Philanthropist of the Year competition was founded in 2007 to encourage charity in Ukraine and to provide public recognition of initiatives that address some of today's most pressing issues for Ukrainian society. The competition panel consists of experts in the social development and charitable spheres who have experience in selecting the best examples of charitable activities. The competition is organized by the Ukrainian National Children's Charitable Foundation, Ukraine 3000, the Ukrainian Philanthropists' Forum and the Center for Philanthropy. 350.ORG, PARTNERS ANNOUNCE WEAR GREEN PHOTO CONTEST

350.org, a global campaign to raise awareness of climate issues, the WWF and the United Nations Volunteers program have announced their Wear Green photo contest, with support from Coca-Cola Ukraine. The competition, which will run through December 1, seeks to raise awareness of ecological issues to make the world a greener place.
