FOXTROT GROUP OF COMPANIES RELEASES ITS SECOND ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT
Foxtrot Group's second annual progress report was produced based on Global Compact initiative principles and highlighted activities implemented by the company within 2009 priority areas. In 2009 the company focused its efforts on employee development and social protection, worker safety, decreasing the company's influence on the environment, as well as consumer rights protection. One of its main achievements during this period was the introduction of a system for employees "Management by Objectives", as well as its program to provide effective services to its consumers. VICTOR PINCHUK FOUNDATION OPENS ITS 20TH CENTER FOR NEWBORNS IN SUMY
On February 24, in Sumy Victor Pinchuk Foundation launched its 20th Center for newborns within its program, entitled "Cradles of Hope". The Foundation spent over UAH 1 mln 145 thsd to purchase state-of-the-art equipment and other necessary goods for the center's operations. The "Cradles of Hope" program is aimed at setting up specialized neonatal centers throughout Ukraine. The program pursues two major objectives: reducing the infant mortality rate in the country; and facilitating the state's transition to international registration standards for newborns. SECOND UKRAINIAN BUSINESS SUMMIT ON CLIMATE CHANGE IN KYIV
On March 24, United Nations in Ukraine, Global Compact Network Ukraine, and "Kommersant" newspaper, with endorsement from the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine, will host the 2nd Ukrainian Business Summit, entitled "Climate Change: Global Approaches and Local Responses" (to be held in Kyiv at the Premier Palace Hotel). The main goals of the summit are to discuss up-to-date issues and trends in development of ecological responsibility in Ukraine and abroad and to draw the attention of the business community and authorities to the problems of global climate change. Participants will discuss consequences and the results of the Copenhagen summit; the role of business in climate change mitigation; introducing new innovative environment protection business-models; state facilitation of ecological responsibilities of business; the necessity of public-private partnerships; and other issues. The summit will bring together more than 150 participants from Ukraine, Russia and other European states, including top managers of leading companies, representatives of Ukrainian Government, expert and scientific communities, international and non-profit institutions, CSR specialists, regional authorities, businesses, and socio-political media. The official partner of the summit is System Capital Management and is conducted in partnership with Samsung Electronics Ukraine, Knauf Insulation Ukraine, GreenCo and others.
