The Children of Heroes Charity Fund is one of Ukraine’s most impactful organizations that supports children who lost one or both parents due to the war. The Fund provides long-term care to children who have lost one or both parents due to the war, offering humanitarian assistance, psychological counseling, medical support and access to education and development opportunities until they reach adulthood. As of October 1st, nearly 14,300 children are under its care, with almost 80 new beneficiaries joining each week.
The Fund’s mission is rooted in both urgency and sustainability – addressing immediate needs such as food and medicine, while also building pathways for education, healing and a brighter future. With representative offices in Ukraine, the United States, and the Netherlands, the organization ensures international oversight, transparency, and effective management of resources. Its work represents not only compassion for Ukraine’s most vulnerable, but also an investment in the country’s future resilience and recovery.
“Each day we see how hard it is for these children to cope with their losses — losing a parent, their home or the sense of stability they once had. That’s why our mission is to provide them with the care and opportunities they need: access to education, healthcare and a chance to grow and dream big again,” said Tetiana Novytska, CEO of the Children of Heroes Charity Fund. “Joining USUBC helps us connect with international partners who care about these children too, because by supporting them, we help rebuild Ukraine and create a stronger future for everyone.”
USUBC welcomes the Fund as an important partner in advancing not only economic cooperation but also the human capital that underpins Ukraine’s recovery. “Supporting children who have lost their parents in the war is a moral duty for all of us,” noted Irina Paliashvili, President & CEO of USUBC. “By embracing the Children of Heroes Charity Fund into our membership, we affirm that sustainable recovery is about more than rebuilding infrastructure – it is also about ensuring the wellbeing and future of Ukraine’s youngest citizens.”
