A recent virtual briefing organized by the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) brought together leading U.S. and Ukrainian energy experts to address the urgent challenges facing Ukraine’s power infrastructure. The discussion featured Paul Shmotolokha, CEO of NewUseEnergy; Amb. Geoffrey Pyatt, Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine and Senior Managing Director at McLarty Associates; Amb. Roman Popadiuk, USUBC Senior Advisor and the first U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine; Steve Burns of the Institute for Security and Technology; and Oleksiy Povolotskiy of DTEK. Speakers examined russia’s continued attacks on Ukraine’s energy grid, the humanitarian and strategic consequences, and the role of alternative power solutions and international support in strengthening resilience. The webinar underscored the importance of sustained transatlantic cooperation to ensure energy security and long-term recovery.
