On 8 December, USUBC co-hosted an in-person roundtable in Kyiv with the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) to advance the conversation on Ukraine’s defense-technology sector and its long-term export potential. The discussion brought together industry leaders, business associations, and government representatives to examine public-private collaboration in defense innovation and the development of an economic security framework essential for Ukraine’s transition from wartime production to competitive global growth.
Two expert panels shaped the program: Public-Private Collaboration for Defense Innovation: Building on Success to Export, and Transition from War to Peace: Building an Economic Security Framework for Global Success in Sensitive Industries. The roundtable drew strong participation, filling the room with representatives from USUBC member companies – including Accordbank, CFC Big Ideas, DLF Attorneys at Law, and Wooden Horse Strategies – alongside major business associations.
Dmytro Filonenko, Director, Programming & Business Development at USUBC delivered welcoming remarks, emphasizing the Council’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s defense-tech ecosystem. The event was moderated by CIPE’s Eric Hontz and featured engaging discussions, at times extending into broader political context reflecting today’s complex security environment.
