USUBC and the Embassy of Ukraine Host Appreciation Luncheon for the Annual Reception Partners in Washington, D.C.

August 27, 2025
Washington, D.C.

Ambassador Oksana Markarova warmly welcomed USUBC members at the Embassy of Ukraine, where she had hosted President Zelenskyy and European leaders a few days earlier, on the day of their historic meeting at the White House.

Our members had the unique opportunity to hear Ambassador Markarova’s insights, ask questions and share their perspectives on various aspects of bilateral U.S.-Ukraine economic cooperation, focusing on all key sectors, including agro and food processing, energy/minerals, defense industrial base, logistics and infrastructure, with a special focus on participation of our members in Ukraine’s recovery efforts. Ihor Baranetskyi, Minister-Counsellor on Economic Issues, and Anton Skliar, Second Secretary, Economic Cooperation, Nonproliferation, Export Control, contributed their meaningful comments to the discussion.

The discussion was deep, productive and engaging – a true reflection of our strong long-standing partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States. For 16 years, the USUBC Annual Reception/Events Fund has proudly supported Ukraine’s Independence Day Reception in Washington D.C., organized by the Embassy of Ukraine, where USUBC serves as the main partner. This year’s celebration will take place on 10 September 2025 at Ukraine House.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our members for their steadfast support of USUBC and for strengthening U.S.-Ukraine economic cooperation.
