On 9 December, USUBC co-hosted an in-person roundtable in Kyiv with the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) and CELIS Institute – The Horizon of Investment Screening in Ukraine. The event focused on Ukraine’s emerging framework for investment controls, FDI risk assessment, and best practices to safeguard economic security, bringing together policymakers, legal experts, and business leaders for a substantive discussion.
The program featured an opening keynotes by Halyna Yanchenko, Head of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Investors’ Rights Protection; Volodymyr Stetsyk, Head of the Investment Support Office, Ministry of Defense of Ukraine; Oleksii Movchan, Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Economic Development and Pavlo Kartashov, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine. The agenda continued with a detailed presentation of the latest CELIS report on investment screening, including an FDI threat assessment in Ukraine, legal analysis of current investment controls, and comparative recommendations. A fireside chat followed, allowing participants to explore practical implications for investors operating in Ukraine. Dmytro Filonenko, Director, Programming & Business Development, delivered welcoming remarks on behalf of USUBC, emphasizing the Council’s commitment to supporting the best practices for Investment Screening in Ukraine.
