Ambassador Brink’s tenure fell at a time of extraordinary difficulty – Ukraine defending its freedom and sovereignty against Russia’s full-scale invasion – and she demonstrated steadfast leadership, deep engagement with Ukraine’s reform and recovery efforts, and strong support for the country’s sovereignty, economic stability, and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. From championing important reforms and supporting U.S. private sector engagement to advancing U.S. humanitarian and defense assistance, Ambassador Brink was a consistent advocate for Ukraine’s resilience and its democratic future.
“Serving as U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine at this critical moment in history has been the honor of a lifetime,” Ambassador Brink stated in her farewell message. “Ukraine has rightfully won a reputation as a courageous nation that belongs in Europe – a sovereign partner that is strong, tough, and innovative.”
