On 31 March in Kyiv, USUBC hosted an in-person USUBC Members Meeting with the Leadership of the Business Ombudsman Council and the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine. The event brought together key officials and business leaders to discuss strategies for protecting and restoring Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.

The meeting featured Roman Waschuk, Business Ombudsman of Ukraine; Tetiana Korotka, Deputy Business Ombudsman; Serhiy Sukhomlyn, Head of the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine; and Manolis Sigalas, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Europe at Hill International Inc. The discussion centered on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure restoration policies, security strategies, and the role of international businesses in supporting the country’s recovery.

Key topics included protecting and restoring critical infrastructure, particularly in the energy sector, national initiatives for reconstruction, cooperation with international donors and development institutions and private sector opportunities in infrastructure recovery and security.

The meeting was moderated by Irina Paliashvili, President & CEO of USUBC, who facilitated a dynamic discussion between USUBC members and the distinguished speakers. Participants had the opportunity to gain first-hand insights into Ukraine’s infrastructure priorities and explore ways in which the private sector can contribute to the country’s restoration efforts.
