On July 9 – USUBC convened a focused USUBC Lunch Roundtable with the Ukrainian Defense Industrial Base Leadership, part of the Strategic Industry Track at URC 2025. The event was generously hosted by L3Harris, a USUBC Member, and moderated by Greg Fishman, USUBC Secretary/Treasurer.
It gathered senior leadership from Ukraine’s defense industrial base, USUBC members from the defense and technology industries and key international partners for an in-depth conversation on advancing cooperation and modernization in Ukraine’s defense-industrial base.
The roundtable featured prominent Ukrainian speakers: Oleksandr Kamyshin, Advisor to the President of Ukraine on Strategic Issues; Chairman of the Board, The Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry (UCDI), David Lomjaria, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Ukrainian Defense Industry (UkrOboronProm) and Oleh Huliak, Director General of Ukrainian Defense Industry (UkrOboronProm). Each speaker provided firsthand insights into current priorities, operational transformations and international cooperation pathways being developed across Ukraine’s strategic industries.
The discussion addressed core areas critical to Ukraine’s defense capability and economic recovery: co-production of equipment and technologies, localization of manufacturing, R&D collaboration and mechanisms for integrating international private sector players into Ukraine’s defense ecosystem. Attendees explored near-term opportunities and discussed how the U.S. and international defense companies can enhance their engagement in Ukraine’s capacity-building agenda.
