Westinghouse is accelerating next-generation reactor development through a strategic collaboration with Google Cloud that applies specialized AI models to nuclear construction, operations and safety. Early pilots of the joint platform have already demonstrated notable time and cost efficiencies, supporting Westinghouse’s broader plan to have ten AP1000 reactors under construction by 2030 to meet rising U.S. energy demand. Company leaders emphasized that combining “energy for AI and AI for energy” is essential to scaling clean power and modernizing the sector.
