To mark World Children’s Day, the Children of Heroes Charity Fund is launching an awareness campaign titled “Why Does It Rain, Dad?” The campaign shares the stories of Ukrainian children who have lost a mother or father due to the war and now must navigate everyday life without parental guidance – from simple household questions to emotional and educational challenges.

The campaign highlights how the war has reshaped childhood in Ukraine: how ordinary tasks can become obstacles, and how the absence of a dependable adult impacts learning outcomes, emotional resilience, and long-term aspirations. At the same time, it showcases the Fund’s comprehensive support system for children who have lost one or both parents.

The Children of Heroes Charity Fund provides:

● Educational programs, including catch-up learning, university preparation, and career guidance;

● Psychological support, such as individual therapy sessions, support groups, and trauma-focused camps;

● Social and humanitarian assistance tailored to the needs of each family;

● Long-term recovery solutions that rebuild a sense of stability, safety, and hope.

Today, more than 14,500 children are under the Fund’s care. The Fund continues to expand long-term programs to ensure that each child receives the emotional, educational, and social support they need to move forward.
