Anne Murphy
Anne Murphy is the Senior Director of International Government Relations for Cargill in Washington, D.C. She leads the U.S.-based international government relations team, working closely with Cargill’s global businesses to advance the company’s strategic international priorities. She oversees U.S.-based government relations efforts with Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and supports advocacy on global food security initiatives.
In her role, Anne engages with key international and federal stakeholders to support Cargill’s mission of nourishing the world safely, responsibly, and sustainably. She collaborates across Cargill’s global businesses and functions to advance trade and investment strategies, resolve business challenges, explore new markets and partnerships, and foster collaboration between Cargill, government institutions, and other global stakeholders.
During her 14 years at Cargill, Anne has developed strategies and led projects in areas such as international trade and investment, food security, and environmental and social sustainability. She has helped the company navigate global markets and build key partnerships across the United States, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East.
Before joining Cargill in 2011, Anne managed Legislative Affairs and political fundraising for the National Turkey Federation (NTF), representing the policy interests of its 300+ members, including farmers, processors, and suppliers. At NTF, she led strategies to enhance the turkey industry’s policy and political leadership. Prior to NTF, she worked for a boutique lobbying firm representing various agricultural organizations, trade associations, companies, cities, and universities.
Anne began her career in Washington through the Texas A&M University Public Policy Internship Program, serving in the Rural Development Agency at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in 2007 with a B.S. in Environmental Geosciences, focusing on human-environment policy. Originally from Texas, Anne now lives in Bethesda, Maryland, with her husband and two children.
