Matthew O’Mara
Matt joined the Washington, DC office of ADM in March 2022, as Senior Director for International Government Relations. In this role, Matt has responsibility for managing ADM’s interests with respect to trade policy, food security and supporting ADM’s businesses globally.
Prior to ADM, Matt was Vice President for International Affairs at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), where he held multiple roles over twelve years. Most recently, Matt led BIO’s cross-sectoral advocacy on trade policy, including U.S. bilateral trade relations with China, Europe and Mexico. Matt also developed and led BIO’s multilateral organization engagement strategy and represented industry in multiple fora, including the World Health Organization’s Expert Committee on Human Genome Editing.
Prior to BIO, Matt held various roles as a consultant on various agricultural trade policy matters for O’Mara & Associates, led by his father Joe O’Mara, former Special Negotiator for Agriculture at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Matt served on both the Senate and House Agriculture Committees and began his career as the Staff Assistant to the Under Secretary for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Matt graduated with a B.S. in economics from Mount Saint Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
