At AB InBev, we aim to be the Best Beer Company Bringing People Together for a Better World. This new evolution of our dream highlights the positive role beer plays in bringing people together and the growing recognition of the need for collective action to address the world’s challenges. We are pleased to share our 2013 Global Citizenship Report – Raising the Bar Together – that highlights this collective approach to helping ensure a sustainable business. As a partner in our work, we welcome your insights and ongoing support. Click here to download the PDF version of our global report.

Our 2013 Report shows the significant progress we have made toward our Better World goals in areas important to our business and to the world – responsible drinking, the environment, and community. It also highlights how AB InBev’s breweries and soft drink facilities across 25 countries in six geographic Zones are scaling best practices globally and describes how the company engages with stakeholders to foster collective action. We realize that some of the issues we face are complex and require continued effort in partnership with our stakeholders to truly make an impact.

Highlights from the report include:

  • Progress on our five-year Global Environmental Goals we set in 2013 on water, energy, carbon emissions, sustainable agriculture, watershed protection, packaging and eco-coolers;

  • Progress on our four-year Global Responsible Drinking Goals we set in 2011, including reaching our goal to provide more than 100 million adults with expert-designed materials to help them talk with their children about underage drinking;

  • Celebration of the company’s fourth annual Global Be(er) Responsible Day, held on September 20, 2013, and involving more than 35,000 colleagues and more than 700 partner organizations around the world in responsible drinking actions;

  • Work with industry peers and stakeholders on the Global Actions Commitments to address key issues such as reducing underage drinking and strengthening and expanding marketing codes of practice in support of the implementation of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Strategy to Reduce the Harmful Use of Alcohol;

  • Continued expansion of our volunteer efforts, with more than 46,700 employees giving more than 168,000 hours of their time to support a variety of community activities around the world – nearly a doubling of 2012 volunteer efforts; and

  • An employee engagement index of 80 percent – an increase of 2.6 percentage points over the previous year, with nearly 98,000 employees participating in the December 2013 survey.

At Anheuser-Busch InBev, we’re proud of our achievements, which would not be possible without our colleagues and our partners, but we keep raising the bar. We constantly challenge ourselves to dream bigger and achieve more. To learn more about our efforts, please watch our Better World video. We welcome your valuable feedback.
