Friends and Insiders -

We're proud to announce that the "Save the Ukrainian Voice" Charitable Concert, held last Saturday, April 2nd in the Detroit area, raised over $50,000 for life-saving aid for Ukraine.

More than 800 people gathered at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts to hear our concert ensemble, violinist Solomia Soroka and pianist Yaroslav Gnezdilov, perform a series of traditional and contemporary selections illustrating Ukrainians' centuries-long struggle for freedom. VIPs in attendance included Mr. Richard Walawender, Honorary Consul of Poland in Detroit, who addressed the audience about how the Polish people are supporting displaced persons from Ukraine.

Proceeds from the concert will be going to Razom for Ukraine and the Ukrainian National Women's League of America, non-profit organizations that have a strong history of delivering humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

The UBC is grateful to have had the opportunity to collaborate with the Ukrainian-American Crisis Response Committee of Michigan and Natalia Kujan Gentry to organize the concert. Furthermore, we would like to thank Natalia, and Tania Smyk, for co-hosting the evening. Thank you for all the donors who contributed to reach our goal. We would also like to thank Stanley Shelton from J & S Portrait America Photography for generously donating his time to photograph the event.
