INVITATION - The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), will host a Business Luncheon to present for the first time in Washington the new, aggressive, "Ukraine 2030, Economic Program for Balanced and Sustainable Economic Growth for Ukraine- MOVING UKRAINE REFORMS FORWARD NOW.  You are invited to attend.  The speakers are:    

1. SERHIY TARUTA, Member of Parliament of Ukraine, Founder and shareholder of Industrial Union of Donbass (IUD); Former Governor of Donetsk Oblast; Founder of Ukrainian Business Initiative (UBI), political and business leader

2. ANDRII NIKOLAIENKO, Former Governor of Kirovohrad Oblast, Former Head of State Agency Donbass Recovery, Former  Advisor to PM of Ukraine, Head of the Board of Directors of Velta Company, Head of Osnova Party.

3. VOLODYMYR POLOCHANINOV, Former member of Parliament, Executive member of Osnova Party 

Long time political, governmental and top business leader, Member of Parliament Serhiy Taruta will lead the presentations by outlining a new, large and comprehensive "UKRAINE 2030, which Mr. Taruta and his colleagues have developed over the past year with a group of top experts.  You will want to hear about this new and aggressive program for economic growth.   A book outlining the new Economic Plan in English will be published later this year.


The USUBC working luncheon will take place at the White House Conference Room, 12th Floor, Offices of Baker & McKenzie, 815 Connecticut Ave NW, Wash, D.C. 20006, on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, 12:15 p.m.- 2 p.m. Those who registered will be notified of the location.

1.  BIO: SERHIY TARUTA, Member of Parliament, Founder and shareholder of Industrial Union of Donbass (IUD); Former Governor of Donetsk Oblast;

Serhiy Taruta was born in Mariupol. He worked at the large Ukrainian metal plant Azovstal. On 2 March 2014, amidst the 2014 conflict in Eastern Ukraine, acting President Oleksandr Turchynov appointed Taruta Governor of Donetsk Oblast. On 10 October 2014, President Petro Poroshenko fired Taruta from office, replacing him with Oleksandr Kikhtenko.

Mr. Taruta co-founded the Industrial Union of Donbas (ISD) which has holdings in metallurgy and agriculture. ISD is one of the biggest corporations in Ukraine. It is a horizontally integrated holding company that owns or directs stocks of 40 industrial enterprises in the East Ukraine, Hungary, and Poland. According to Forbes magazine, he ranks among the richest people in the world.
 
Taruta reportedly participated in the antigovernment protests on the Maidan in Kyiv that led to the fall of former President Viktor Yanukovych. In the 2014 Ukrainian parliamentary election Taruta as an independent candidate won a single-member district in Mariupol with 60.00% of the votes and is thus a member of the Ukrainian parliament since 27 November 2014.

Andriy Nikolayenko is the head of the “OSNOVA” (“BASIS”) party - www.OsnovaParty.org the state manager of the new formation, a diplomat, a scientist. In 2000 graduated from the Institute of International Relations of the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. Master of International Economic Relations.
 
In 2001 graduated from the Yonsei University (Seoul, Republic of South Korea). In 2002-2006 Andriy Nikolayenko served as diplomat. He worked as an attaché and secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in South Korea.
 In 2006-2008 he was a student of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2009-2010 he worked as the Deputy Head of the Department for Foreign Economic Policy and International Cooperation of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and supervised the implementation of promising cooperation projects with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
 
In 2010-2013 he worked in the Kirovohrad (Kropyvnytskyi) Oblast State Administration as deputy chairman, first deputy, and then head of the Kirovohrad (Kropyvnytskyi) Regional State Administration. During the most challenging time for Ukraine in March-October 2014, Andriy Nikolayenko held the position of 1st deputy chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, chairman of the State Agency for Donbass Restoration.
 
In 2015 Andriy Nikolayenko became Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Velta" LLC. In February 2016 Mr.Nikolayenko, as well as about 30 representatives of the responsible Ukrainian business, signed the Declaration "Ukrainian Business for the Society and Government", and was unanimously elected as the coordinator of the Ukrainian Business Initiative. The main goals of this association are the adoption of a new cooperative agreement and the implementation of a balanced economic development model of Ukraine.
 
In 2016 Mr.Nikolayenko defended his thesis for the degree of a PhD in economic sciences. Theme of work: "The mechanism of ensuring the development of the national innovation system of Ukraine". In 2017, Andriy Nikolayenko joined the team of "OSNOVA" political party and he was elected its chairman. Since 2013 Andriy Nikolayenko heads the Federation of Baseball and Softball of Ukraine. 

3.  BIO - VOLODYMYR POLOCHANINOV - Outstanding Experienced Politician, Promotes new Constitution of Ukraine.....

Volodymyr Polochaninov is an experienced Ukrainian politician, ideologue of nation-wide adoption of the new Constitution of Ukraine. In 1996, graduated from Bila Tserkva State Agricultural University, as economist.
For nearly 20 years, since the student years,  has worked in business, at positions of top manager in various commercial structures. Competences – marketing, finance, business economics.

In 2006, Mr.Polochaninov became a deputy of the Kyiv Regional Council, headed the Standing Committee on Budget and Finance. In 2009 he headed the Kyiv regional organization of the political party "Front of Change", "Front of Change" headed the faction in the Kiev Regional Council. In 2012 he became an MP of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the “Batkivshchyna / Motherland” party. Co-author of 15 bills.

Politician Volodymyr Polochaninov is capable of non-standard deeds. He was the first Member of Parliament of Ukraine, who voluntarily announced his declaration of income for 2012 on the Ukrainian Parliament website. In August 2014, Volodymyr Polochaninov has bought the gold medal of the world champion in rhythmic gymnastics Natalia Godunko at the auction for 100 thousand UAH. The gymnast sold the medal to donate the proceeds to the army's needs. MP Polochaninov returned the medal to the champion.

In September 2014, Volodymyr Polochaninov, on his own initiative, has resigned his parliamentary powers, believing that the actions of the Parliament of the VII convocation have nothing to do with what is happening in Ukraine. Therefore, to give up the parliamentary mandate was the only possible and logical step for a citizen who sincerely wants to live and work in a strong and successful state of Ukraine.

Since 2015, Volodymyr Polochaninov actively advocates the idea of ​​a new social contract and the adoption of a new, national Constitution of Ukraine. He became the co-founder of the NGO "Constitutional Convention", he also initiated the creation of a coalition of civil society "People's Constitution" and was a co-organizer of the Forum of Civil Society "New Social Contract" in the spring of 2016.

In 2017 Volodymyr Polochaninov became one of the leaders of the political party "Osnova / BASIS" – www.OsnovaParty.org. Volodymyr Polochaninov is an athlete, is fond of cycling, popularizing a healthy lifestyle. In 2011 together with the footballer Anatoly Tymoshchuk founded the Foundation "Movement of Youth" – www.RM.ua. At the initiative of the fund several football and hockey tournaments were held.
