Washington DC: USUBC Annual Meeting and Business Luncheon
On Monday, December 9, 2024, USUBC will hold its 29th Annual Business Meeting in Washington, D.C., from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (D.C. time) and 16:30 to 18:30 (Kyiv time). The meeting will be held in-person and via Zoom.
USUBC Board Members are invited, with those attending in Washington, D.C., invited to an Annual Business Luncheon afterward. Annual elections for the USUBC Executive Committee, President, Secretary/Treasurer, and Chair positions for CY2025 will be conducted.
Per the email sent to Designated USUBC Board Members on November 4, please note that nominations of fellow Board Members for USUBC elections may be submitted by Designated USUBC Board Members to usubc@usubc.org through November 15. A “Meet the Candidates” forum will be organized on Zoom about two weeks before the Annual Business Meeting on December 9, with voting open until the end of the Annual Business Meeting.”

USUBC Celebrates the Remarkable Life and Legacy of Morgan Williams in Washington, D.C.

On October 30, 2024, the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council gathered in Washington, D.C. to honor the life and legacy of Morgan Williams, the late USUBC President and a champion of U.S.-Ukraine relations. The evening brought together family, friends, colleagues, and USUBC members to celebrate a man whose hard work has left an enduring mark on the U.S.-Ukraine business community and on Ukraine's modern history. Held at the famed landmark, Organization of American States, the event highlighted Morgan’s lasting impact and commitment to Ukraine’s independence and prosperity.
The evening opened with a heartfelt keynote address from HE Oksana Markarova, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, who shared reflections on Morgan’s visionary leadership and his dedication to USUBC’s mission and the Ukrainian people. Ambassador Markarova also presented Morgan’s family with archival photographs, capturing key moments of his impactful journey.
The program continued with a video tribute, followed by touching speeches from Morgan’s son Daren Williams and daughter Denise Ondroff, who shared personal stories and reflections on their father's life and work. Morgan’s leadership was also celebrated by the U.S. Government representatives - Mark Simakovsky from USAID, and Matt Edwards of the U.S. Department of Commerce, who spoke on Morgan’s pivotal role in advancing U.S.-Ukraine trade and economic relations.

This event was hosted by US Ukrainian Activists (USUA) in partnership with La Maison Française, the Embassy of France. Dr. Kateryna Smagliy, Counselor for Political Affairs and Public Diplomacy, greeted the audience on behalf of the Embassy of Ukraine to the United States.

Pavlo Gintov, who has been described as “a poet of the keyboard” by Marty Lash of the Illinois Entertainer and who is on a mission to help international audiences rediscover brilliant Ukrainian composers, presented a virtuoso program highlighting the exquisite music of Ukrainian composers Serhiy Bortkiewicz, Viktor Kosenko, Myroslav Skoryk, and Oleg Bezborodko.

The First Foreign Investment Congress was held on 31 October in Kyiv, and Irina participated in the panel entitled: “The role and mission of international business organizations in attracting private capital and effective lobbying for investors in Ukraine”.

The Congress brought together 110 participants from 20 countries, becoming a communication platform for dialogue and discussion of future ways of cooperation in the process of Ukraine's recovery. It was attended by representatives of urban communities from 26 major cities of Ukraine, investors, members of diplomatic community, representatives of IFIs, 10 international business associations, and government officials.
The Congress has become an important platform for attracting financial resources and foreign investment on the way to restoring Ukraine's capacity and economic potential. The SECOND FOREIGN INVESTMENT CONGRESS is scheduled for May 2025.

National Ballet of Ukraine Completed the US Tour with Sold Out Performances, Cheers, Tears and Standing Ovations!

The National Ballet of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers concluded their successful US Tour with sold-out performances. Over the course of 23 days, they captivated audiences with 18 shows across 16 cities, reaching over 22,000 attendees.

|
This Tour became a successful mission to celebrate and share Ukrainian culture with America, taking the audiences on a profound emotional journey, culminating in a sense of immense joy and hope.
USUBC was a proud partner of this enormous cultural achievement for Ukraine, with USUBC Acting President, Irina Paliashvili, having served on the Host Committee, chaired by HE Oksana Markarova, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States. We are grateful to all USUBC members, who supported the Tour and attended the performances! USUBC extends its congratulations to Marc McMurrin, President & CEO Ginsburg Family Foundation and the entire team, who organized this highly successful cerebration of Ukrainian culture in the United States.
