Washington DC: USUBC Annual Meeting and Business Luncheon

On Monday, December 9, 2024, USUBC will hold its 29th Annual Business Meeting in Washington, D.C., from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (D.C. time) — 16:30 to 18:30 (Kyiv time). The meeting will be held in-person and via Zoom. Annual elections for the USUBC Executive Committee, President, Secretary/Treasurer, and Chair positions for CY2025 will be conducted.

USUBC Board Members, with those attending in Washington, D.C., are invited to an Annual Business Luncheon afterward.

USUBC Member Accordbank Supports Landmark Ukrainian Art Exhibition in Kyiv

On November 29, 2024, the National Art Museum of Ukraine (NAMU) hosted the opening of “At the Epicenter of the Storm. Secession in Ukraine,” a remarkable exhibition showcasing the diversity and innovation of Ukrainian art during the early 20th century.

The event highlighted the significant contribution of Accordbank, a proud member of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC). Accordbank’s support enabled the acquisition of Ivan Myasoedov’s The Argonauts sketch, now a part of NAMU’s permanent collection. This marks a milestone for the museum, as it now includes a work by one of the key figures of the Secession movement. USUBC representatives attended the exhibition to honor Accordbank’s efforts and celebrate the importance of preserving and showcasing Ukraine's cultural heritage.

“A Ukrainian Christmas” by the award-winning Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America Presented by the Ukrainian Selfreliance Federal Credit Union

The Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America, led by Artistic Director and Conductor, Oleh Mahlay, is returning to Washington DC with its “A Ukrainian Christmas” concert program. The ensemble, founded in Kyiv in 1918, is known worldwide for its artistry of the bandura, a 60-stringed musical instrument. More recently, the ensemble was featured at the Carnegie Hall concert in December of 2022 that celebrated and honored the 100th anniversary of the U.S. premier of “Schedryk.”

 

The ensemble has presented over 1,000 concerts throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and Ukraine over the last 75 years. Tickets
