Washington, D.C.: USUBC held Annual Business Meeting
|
|
On December 9, the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council held its Annual Business Meeting at the offices of King & Spalding Law Firm, with virtual participation via Zoom for members joining from Ukraine and beyond. This important event gathered voting members of the USUBC Board of Directors to discuss annual financial and executive reports on USUBC’s activities and accomplishments over the past year, to vote on several USUBC resolutions and to elect USUBC officers and members of the Executive Committee.

|
The Meeting emphasizing efforts to support Ukraine’s economic development, resilience, and integration into global markets. USUBC Board Members also engaged in discussions about upcoming priorities and opportunities to expand collaborative initiatives among the Council’s growing network of over 240 members.

Washington, D.C.: Deputy Secretary Verma’s Keynote Address on Ukraine’s Economic Recovery - United States Department of State

Irina Paliashvili, Acting President of USUBC, participated on December 12 in Washington, D.C. in the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Project on Prosperity and Development’s conversation with Deputy Secretary of State Richard R. Verma.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Ambassador Verma emphasized the crucial role of private sector engagement and announced four new critical initiatives to support Ukraine’s wartime economy, recovery and reconstruction:

Additional $74.7 million to support export-oriented agriculture, so Ukraine’s farmers and food processors can play a greater role in Ukraine’s economic comeback. Ambassador Verma underscored the important role of the U.S. private sector in supporting Ukraine to get quality Ukrainian produce and grains on family tables around the world, and specifically highlighted four USUBC members: ADM, Bunge, Cargill and Louis-Dreyfus.

More than $223 million dollars in additional support to rebuild Ukraine’s transportation, infrastructure and logistics.
-
$35 million contribution to the Ukraine Recovery Trust Fund to support the Ukraine Government’s own, internal Project Preparation Facility, co-developed together with the World Bank.
-
More than $105 million in new funding to train and equip Ukrainians for tomorrow’s jobs in reconstruction and industry.

Washington, D.C.: USUBC Hosts Private Dinner with First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko
|

On December 4, 2024, the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council held a private dinner in Washington, D.C. honoring Ms. Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, along with a high-ranking Ukrainian delegation.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Key topics of discussion included Ukraine’s energy security, the protection of critical energy infrastructure, and opportunities in critical minerals exploration. The dinner provided an invaluable platform for dialogue between Ukrainian government officials and the U.S. business leaders actively involved in Ukraine.
The event was attended by several prominent USUBC members working in the energy sector, including Holtec International , GE Vernova, Honeywell, Culmen International, VELTA LLC, Rebuilding Ukraine Agency and others. Their participation highlighted the importance of collaboration between U.S. investment community and Ukrainian leaders in addressing Ukraine's critical economic and energy challenges and opportunities for collaboration in Ukraine's reconstruction in the energy sector.

Kyiv: ArtAsters hosts exhibition IMAGINARY RIGIDITY OF EMPATHY
|
|
On 4 December 2024, Asters and the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) held a reception opening a new art exhibition IMAGINARY RIGIDITY OF EMPATHY in their long-standing project ArtAsters promoting Ukrainian art. The exhibition is based on artworks of Victor Sydorenko, one of the most prominent protagonist of the contemporary Ukrainian art.

|
|
|
In his works, including exhibited graphic prints, paintings, videos and sculptures, the artist explores vibrant existential themes of human identity, social change, and living experience. His unique style combines realism and abstraction creating thought-provoking images challenging viewers with fundamental questions of human life. His artistry is broadly recognized internationally with solo exhibitions at the Venice Biennale, in the Museum of Contemporary Art KIASMA (Finland), and many other museums and galleries. His artworks are owned by Yale University (USA), art museums and numerous private collectors worldwide.

U.S.-Ukraine Business Council Welcomes New Members — Education Alliance for Ukraine and New Use Energy, Inc.

|
Education Alliance for Ukraine (EAUA), a nonprofit foundation, is dedicated to driving sustainable development in Ukraine by providing cutting-edge construction technology training. EAUA’s initiatives include the creation of Construction Technology Centers of Excellence based on a Memorandum of Understanding with Ukraine’s Ministry of Education and Science.

These centers aim to prepare professionals in architecture, engineering, and construction for Ukraine’s $500 billion+ reconstruction efforts. American Councils: Supporting Ukraine Through Education and Humanitarian Aid

|
American Councils for International Education, a leading nonprofit in international education, has been a steadfast partner to Ukraine since 1991. With over 250 programs in 148 countries, the organization empowers individuals and institutions to succeed globally.

|
|
|
In response to Russia's 2022 invasion, American Councils launched the Emergency Support for Ukraine Initiative, providing $94,000 in funding and humanitarian aid. This includes $60,000 in grants for Ukrainian FLEX alumni studying in the U.S. and critical medical and digital infrastructure for war-impacted regions.
