Each year, CRDF Global presents the George Brown Award for International Scientific Cooperation to recognize individuals for their critical work advancing international cooperation in science and technology. The Award furthers the late Congressman George Brown's vision for international research cooperation and commemorates his important role in the efforts leading to CRDF Global's creation. For 2012, over 200 guests were present to see the awards being presented to honorees Mr. William H. Draper III, Dr. David Hamburg and Dr. Charles M. Vest on December 4 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington DC. Speakers for the award ceremony included Norm Augustine, Dr. Margaret Hamburg, Lorraine Hariton, Dr. Shirley Ann Jackson, the Honorable Richard Lugar, and the Honorable James Symington.
