Leonid’s previous positions include positions of a manager for drug registration in Ukraine and CIS countries, Quality Assurance and medical counsel. His work for pharmaceutical companies was mainly focused on drug regulatory affairs, and his key duties included issues of liaison of the latter with national agencies for drug registration and quality control. He also acted as a counsel in numerous patent litigations.

“We are happy that Leonid joins our team. A professional lawyer with strong educational and practical background in the Life Science area and excellent reputation on the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine will help us to better match expectations of our clients – international and local companies in this industry. Life Science is one of the strategic sectors of Arzinger activity and we continue to invest into know-how development in this industry. Life Science businesses all over the world have been confronting over the years with a number of issues in three main legislative areas – regulatory, competition & antitrust, and IP. Ukraine is not an exception, - there are similar trends. Arzinger has an outstanding and recognized expertise in the regulatory and antitrust areas. Our IP practice has been just on the rise and we were not able toclaim leadership due to the limited capacities and lack of niche expertise in this area. Our IP - team has been assigned with the task to dramatically change this situation in order to enable us to provide our clients with an exhaustive complex of services on protection of their interests.

Considering aggressive policy of local and foreign generic companies in respect to original and generic products bio-equivalency of which have been confirmed by regulatory authorities of the USA and Europe and imperfection of Ukrainian legislation or the court practice in the IP sphere we see enormous opportunities in this area. Clients of Arzinger have already seen the synergy effect based on combination of Arzinger’s litigation experience and Leonid’s know-how in the area of patent law. Hard to overestimate is the fortunate combination of Leonid’s education in pharmacy and law which is very important for an expert focusing on patent disputes in the Life Science industry. Arzinger has ambitions to conquer leading positions in this sector and I'm sure that Leonid will help us to achieve the desired results”, - commented Timur Bondaryev, Managing Partner and Head of Arzinger’s Healthcare and Pharmaceutics Practice.
