On 19 June 2013, Asters Law Firm jointly with the US-Ukraine Business Council held a traditional already summer receptionwithin the ArtAsters project, a presentation of exclusive posters exhibitionfrom private collections, which are based on the works of Valery Viter Windfrom the Ukraine.
A unique posters exhibition representing the second half ofthe 20th and early 21st centuries provides the opportunity to meet thedevelopment of various areas of the Soviet and Ukrainian posterart. Part of thecollection of posters of the Soviet era 40's and 60's demonstrates asignificant impact of the ideology that dominated at that time. Strongimpression is made by the posters upon the tragic pages of Ukrainian history:Holodomor 1932-33, Babyn Yar, and Chornobyl.
At the opening ceremony, Armen Khachaturyan Asters SeniorPartner in his speech expressed his admiration with the collections, and said:'The poster art is a unique genre of painting. Its uniqueness is in the factthat on a small piece of paper the author skillfully conveys the idea to theviewer through a series of covert and unconcealed signs. A feature of ValeriyViter's creativity is a rare use of the best examples of Ukrainian folk art inposter art".
In his message, Morgan Williams, President of the US-Ukraine Business Council, said that he is personally struck by the skills of ValeriyViter and that he possesses many of his poster-works, in his privatecollection, especially on political subjects. Such artists starting with acapital letter as Viter deserve recognition and the ArtAsters exhibition is oneof the best ways to achieve this.
Valeriy Viter, an artist, singer and musician, expressed hisdeep gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity of presenting his work tothe legal and business communities. He is proud of the fact that the expositionat Asters includes his works, many of which have been repeatedly awarded highprizes at international competitions in Ukraine and abroad.
The Wind from Ukraine exhibition is rather special as presentedthere is a concert that Valeriy Viter performed with his fellow musicians fromthe vocal musical ensemble Kobza Original, that without exaggeration, in 70-90years was a long-time pop music culture representative of Ukraine, touringround-the-globe with brilliant repertoire of Ukrainian folk and pop songs.Valeriy Viter, should be noted, was and still is (once again he confirmed thisby his a-cappella singing during the reception at ArtAsters) the major soloistof the ensemble.
Traditionally, the event was held in the office of Astersand gathered over a hundred guests, including top managers, diplomats, representatives of the authorities and culture.
Photos from the event are available at the Asters website.
