Kyiv, 26 September 2013 – Avellum Partners announces today that it acted as a legal counsel to Lafarge Group on the sale of its cement business in Ukraine for an enterprise value of EUR96 million to CRH plc, the international building materials group. This business comprises one wet process cement plant “Mykolaivcement”, which is located in Lviv region. Avellum Partners also assisted Lafarge in obtaining the concentration and concerted actions approvals from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (“AMC”) for the above mentioned transaction.

Lafarge is one of the world leaders in building materials production with top-ranking positions in the manufacture of cement, concrete, aggregates and gypsum in 64 countries around the world. The company employs 65,000 people and posted sales of EUR15.8 billion in 2012. Lafarge entered the Ukrainian market in 1999.

The team of Avellum Partners was led by Partner, Kostiantyn Likarchuk, with significant input of Associates, Mykyta Nota, Yuriy Zaremba, and Gennadii Roschepii. Mykyta Nota, Mariya Detkova, and Iaroslav Medvedev, Associates, were responsible for the AMC filing.
