BDO in Ukraine dates back to 1993, when the auditing and consulting firm "Balance-Audit" was established in Dnipropetrovsk. In 1997, the company joined the international BDO network and was renamed "BDO Balance-Audit"; the compliance with the highest international standards of BDO was mandatory for joining the BDO network. Beginning in 2009, in line with the global strategy, the company changed its name to BDO in Ukraine. The U.S. national office for BDO International is in Chicago, IL.

More than 200 employees work in offices located in six major cities: Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Lviv and Sevastopol. The city of Rivne became the latest addition to the BDO in Ukraine network with the representative office opening in March 2012. Most of the professionals are certified auditors of Ukraine by A-Series certificates, certified CIPA and CAP, have international certificates of ACCA and CPA, together with extensive practical experience of IFRS and ISA.

USUBC membership has grown rapidly during the past six years. Membership now stands at 185. In January 2005 membership was eight; two years later it had grown to 22; in January 2009 it reached 100; and in January of 2011 topped 150.
