BDO Ukraine in cooperation with Lviv City Council succeeded in holding activities for entrepreneurs of Lviv and the region. On 29 November free seminar “Simplified taxation system: how to work after the New Year?” was held. The simplified taxation system is so topical issue that more than 130 entrepreneurs and accountants participated in the event and the decision was made to hold an additional seminar on 7 December.

Mr. Andriy Yeliseyev, Deputy Development Director in the Eastern region of BDO Ukraine, head of Federation of Professional Accountants and Auditors of Ukraine in Lviv region stated, “As is well known, beginning from 1 January 2012 a new section of the Ukrainian Tax Code relating to the simplified taxation system becomes effective. As such, there are both significant changes in legislation and many inconsistencies. BDO Ukraine together with Lviv City Council organized this illustrative seminar in order to explain how to operate correctly within the framework of the new simplified taxation system, without penalties in the new 2012, to know what form do we have to choose and how do we have to prepare our activities”.

Mrs. Victoria Dovzhick, acting Head of Economy Department adds, “The event is of a great importance for entrepreneurs as functioning of the simplified taxation system, accounting and reporting, beginning from 01.01.2012 is a matter, which is being discussed for long. There were many suggestions. First proposed edition was not an appropriate one for entrepreneurs. We all expected Section XIV of the new Tax Code in April. We all looked forward to the approval of the simplification part. Today the law has been signed and beginning from 1 January we will operate under new rules. Therefore, it is very important to know these rules for the entrepreneurs, who will apply the simplified taxation system. We are grateful to the Federation of Accountants and Auditors of Lviv branch and the audit company BDO for their joint efforts in giving the seminar”.
