Newly released 2014 edition of the Chambers Europe, an international legal directory, recommends DLA Piper in Ukraine for a number of legal practice areas:  

 Band 1: both Real Estate practice and personally Natalia Kochergina are top ranked Both real estate team and Natalia Kochergina, Partner and practice head in Ukraine, for the second year in a row received highest rankings Band 1 - as the best real estate law firm and the best real estate lawyer in Ukraine. Chambers quotes sources commenting about DLA Piper real estate team's strengths: "The firm is very well known for its excellent real estate advice and the level of proficiency was fantastic" and "the team was very quick, capable, attentive to the details and was able to cope with a number of complex projects. The lawyers did not just provide legal advice, but business-oriented advice as well¡¨.

Chambers acknowledges that "the "knowledgeable" Natalia Kochergina is distinguished for her formidable skills as a negotiator", while sources enthuse that ¡§she is incredibly client-oriented and has a strong understanding of the industry¡¨.

 Band 2: Corporate & M&A; Leading lawyers: Margarita Karpenko and Oleksandr Kurdydyk Corporate & M&A practice in Ukraine is ranked by the Chambers Europe in Band 2. The publication notes that "its large international network allows DLA Piper to focus on cross-border and  multijurisdictional transactions" and quotes sources saying that they are "very customer focused, and they work all hours of the night if you need them to." Margarita Karpenko, Managing Partner and Head of Corporate with DLA Piper Ukraine is recommended (Band 3) as a leading lawyer for Corporate & M&A and is valued for her work on corporate and employment matters across a variety of industries.

Oleksandr Kurdydyk heads the Finance & Projects team, is working on many M&A projects in financial sector and is also known and recommended for his involvement in oil and gas mandates.

 Band 2: Tax; Leading lawyers: Svitlana Musienko Chambers ranks tax team in Band 2 and praises its lawyers for their notable strength in the FMCG and pharmaceutical industries as well as their ability to handle both contentious and non-contentious mandates. The team¡¦s work in tax structuring is prominent on the market, which is followed by a quote from a client: "very strong in terms of tax legislation and tax structuring of complex deals".

- Restructuring; Leading lawyers: Oleksandr Kurdydyk, Illya Muchnyk For Restructuring, the team is ranked in Band 3 and is known for utilising corporate, tax, finance and real estate groups within the practice which allows it to provide clients with comprehensive restructuring service. Chambers Europe recommends for Restructuring both Oleksandr Kurdydyk, noted for his expertise in the transport, telecommunications and energy sectors, and Illya Muchnyk, commenting that he is ¡¥a fast-developing legal director within the firm with substantial experience of both finance and M&A transactions¡.

- Competition; Leading lawyers: Galyna Zagorodniuk Ranked in Band 3, Competition team "is known for advices on competition approval, merger control, antitrust investigations and unfair competition", notes Chambers. The team is praised by the clients for "good knowledge of the local regulatory market".
