Vitaliy Radchenko, senior associate and coordinator of the Energy and Projects practice with Kyiv office of CMS Cameron McKenna delivered presentations on “Issues revealed by due diligence of wind & solar projects in Ukraine” during recent annual conferences devoted to renewable energy in Ukraine: the 3rd Ukrainian Forum on Renewable Energy (REF-UA-2011) on 17 October 2011 and the 3rd international trade show and conference GREENEXPO | Alternative energy on 26 - 28 October 2011. Both events were held in Kyiv.

Having worked on a number of renewable projects in Ukraine Vitaliy has an in-depth understanding of the industry itself and relevant legal issues. During his presentations he provided practical tips on peculiarities of due diligence of wind and solar projects in Ukraine. He touched upon several major aspects which should be checked during the project's due diligence: legal title to land, permitting and grid connection.

Vitaliy also spoke about various stages of the project cycle for developers and investors, including project initiation and structuring, land allocation, construction, grid link and potential environmental issues. Vitaliy shed some light on the principal concerns of investors into wind and solar projects that the project developers should be aware of and account for.
