DLA PIPER ADVISES ISTIL GROUP ON HOTEL MANAGEMENT PROJECT WITH MARRIOTT

Kyiv, Ukraine - DLA Piper provided legal and tax support to ISTIL Group, a Ukrainian business group, in connection with the negotiation of a hotel management contract with Marriott Hotels Corporation for the management of the Hotel Leipzig, Kiev under the Renaissance brand.
ISTIL is currently redeveloping the former Leipzig hotel in the centre of Kyiv, which was initially built in 1900 and has remained empty since the early 1990s. The property was purchased by ISTIL Real Estate in 2009.
DLA Piper team rendered ISTIL Group with comprehensive legal and tax support within the project's preparation and implementation, advising on the project structure from a legal, tax and commercial point of view, negotiating and amending the set of hotel agreements developed by Marriott, as well as supported the client in the course of contract negotiations.
Related to the Project, the DLA Piper team also drafted construction contract based on FIDIC standard form during the stage of the hotel's renovation.
