DLA PIPER AWARDED FOREIGN LAW FIRM OF THE YEAR 2014 IN UKRAINE

DLA Piper's Kyiv office was awarded Foreign Law Firm of the Year 2014 at the prestigious annual Legal Awards by The Yuridicheskaya Practika Weekly, which took place on 23 May 2014 in the Premier Palace Hotel, Kyiv.

DLA Piper was selected for the coveted title by an independent panel of legal experts, made up of well-known Ukrainian lawyers. Legal Awards ceremony is in its 8th year, and DLA Piper is awarded Foreign Law Firm of the Year for the third time (2014, 2012, 2008).

Margarita Karpenko, Managing Partner of the Kyiv office, commented: "We are proud to be the recipient of this award for the third time since the start of the competition, despite the tough year that the country experiences. This is a well-deserved recognition of professionalism of our team and a good motivation to maintain high standards for legal services provision."

All our practice groups and respective group leaders (except for Real Estate practice head Natalia Kochergina, awarded as Best Real Estate Lawyer of the Year in 2013, who could not be rated this year due to the rules of the competition) were ranked in the lists of top firms and top lawyers shortlisted for respective legal areas.

In particular, DLA Piper was named in "Best 3" lists for Intellectual Property, and Real Estate, as well as in "Best 5" lists for Corporate, M&A, Banking & Finance, Tax, and Media &Telecommunications. Personally Oleksandr Kurdydyk, Partner and Head of Finance & Projects, got an individual listing in "Best 5 Lawyers" for Banking & Finance, Svitlana Musienko, Partner and Head of Tax, got an individual listing in "Best 5 Lawyers" for Tax, and Natalia Pakhomovska, Partner and Head of IP & Technology, was personally listed as one of the best lawyers in Intellectual Property "Best 5", and Galyna Zagorodniuk, Legal Director, was noted in "Best 5" for Competition.
