DuPont Pioneer activity isnot limited to businesses arrangement and environmental protection only. The company caresabout improving the quality of life in the localcommunity where the production facility is located, and strives to solve thechallenges Stasi residents face every day. Thus last year the company repaired 1’43 km of traffic-bearing surface of the village mainstreet. 400’000 UAH invested in these works allowed repairing 1’300 squaremeters of the road. DuPont Pioneer particularly cares about the most unprotected groups of the local inhabitants:the company helps Stasi Gymnasium, Mykhaylivska boarding school, congratulates Stasiveterans on the Victory Day,directing initiatives to match the community needs.
At the beginning of 2014 through public opinion research the company foundanother significant problem, Stasi and six other villagers’ residents’ accessto quality medical care. The local family medicine ambulatory didn’thave a special transport while the distance between settlementsis quite long, so it was hard forvillagers to get themselves tohospitals. DuPontPioneer Ukraine appealed to Pioneer Hi-Bred Foundation, found in 1992 for charitable activity, with the help of the Ukrainian non-governmental organization CCC Creative Center. After a detailed analysis of thecase, Pioneer Hi-Bred Foundation approved the donation of the ambulance car.The car is certified and fully equipped with modern electrocardiograph and blood glucose meter, so from nowthe local community will be able to get a better quality medical care.
