Kyiv Mohyla Academy Hosts The U.S. Ambassador's Forum with Author and Journalist Anne Applebaum

Kyiv Mohyla Academy hosted Anne Applebaum at the presentation of her new publication "Iron Curtain – The Crushing of Eastern Europe 1944-1956", at the U.S. Ambassador's Forum on February 7, 2013. The event was attended by John Tefft, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Dr. Viacheslav Bryukhovetsky, Honorary President of NaUKMA, and representatives of the academic community and civil society.
Anne Applebaum, American journalist and Pulitzer Prize-winning author, has written extensively about communism and the development of civil society in Central and Eastern Europe. She is the author of a best seller Gulag, which was translated and published in Ukrainian by Kyiv Mohyla Publication House, and she has been an editor at The Economist, and a member of the editorial board of The Washington Post (2002–2006) and Slate Magazine. She continues to write for the Washington Post and other publications. She is married to Poland's Minister of Foreign Affairs RadosÅ‚aw Sikorski.
