3 An Overview of Recent Developments at KSE

The Kyiv School of Economics, founded byEERC and the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, is a world-class academic institution with a reputation for excellence both in Ukraine and internationally. KSE offers internationally recognized full time Master’s Programs inBusiness EconomicsFinancial Economics and Economic Analysis taught in English by international and Western-trained Ukrainianfaculty who have strong backgrounds in teaching and research. The programs curricula are modeled on the best economic, business, and financial graduate programs in North America and Western Europe. Students are provided with an advanced access to the world economics literature and various informational resources. After the graduation, students have a possibility to receive Master’s diplomas from the University of Houston (US).

4 KSE Team Has Taken the 3rd Place at the Grand Final of the Worldwide “BNP Paribas Ace Manager” Business Game

The team “75/25” consisting of three students of the Kyiv School of Economics – Arsenie Ciobanu, Sergii Kiiashko and Sergiy Meleshchuk – has finished third in the Grand Final of “BNP Paribas Ace Manager” held on April 18th in BNP Paribas’ Headquarters in Paris.

Out of the 2 535 teams who participated in the competition, only five reached the Grand Final. 

The results of the Final are the following:

  • 4th: Fusion and SW&P (Russia)
  • 3rd: 75/25 (Kyiv School of Economics, Ukraine)
  • 2nd: Olivbergen (Sweden)
  • 1st: Kinetic (Singapore)

We are very proud that a KSE team has become the first Ukrainian team that has ever made it to the Grand Final and took the third place in this Grand Final of the Worldwide “BNP Paribas Ace Manager” Business Game.

5 KSE Open Executive Lecture on “Motivation” by Peter Chernyshov, CEO at Carlsberg Ukraine

On May 15, 2012 Mr. Peter Chernyshov, CEO at Carlsberg Ukraine, gave an Open Executive Lecture on “Motivation” to KSE students and students from different Ukrainian universities. 

Mr. Chernyshov shared with students his view on the main ways to motivate employees and the roles of the top management in this.

The presentation by Mr. Chernyshov raised many questions from students. The student with the best question was awarded a ticket to Euro 2012. 

6 Company Presentations at KSE

The Kyiv School of Economics is actively looking for practitioners to give guest presentations to KSE students. The purpose of such lectures is to bring 'real life' examples and experience to the KSE classroom.

In addition, Ernst & Young organized an Open House for KSE students held in E&Y office on April 2. On May 24 KSE students had a “breakfast under the roof” with the top management of Procter & Gamble.

7 KSE Internship Program

We would like to express our gratitude to the following companies for inviting KSE students for summer internships, so far:

Since 1996, KSE has graduated 482 students. KSE graduates are excellent professionals who have advanced skills in economic modeling and analysis, and are in high demand on both the international and local job markets. Today KSE alumni are employed by various companies and institutions around the world at the positions of economists, analysts, and consultants with international banks, investment funds, consulting, auditing, industrial firms, as well as international financial institutions and western think tanks.

In order to give KSE students an opportunity to gain practical experience and to apply their economic training to real-life situations, KSE maintains an Internship Program placing students to work on a full- or part-time basis in various companies and institutions.

9 Alumni Giving to KSE

75 alumni have committed to support the school financially, with a total commitment of over $22,000 for this year. Most of these alumni have pledged multiple year (3-year) contributions, for a grand total of over $50,000. 

For a small and young school, KSE alumni giving rate is at 17.8%, whereas the average alumni giving rate in the US colleges where there is a much longer history of alumni giving is 13.5%.

We would like to thank our graduates for such a generous support!

10 KSE Master`s Program in International Agricultural Management

KSE is preparing the launch of a program in International Agricultural Management.

This 10 month program will help agricultural managers to take their business to a new level. The program will expose students to modern knowledge in agribusiness, management and economics as well as the best practices in agri-entrepreneurship through case studies, field trips, internship and international experience exchange.

The program will be implemented in collaboration with international partners from France, Norway and Georgia.

All courses will develop hard skills (lecture-based) and soft skills (group-work on successful business cases).
